Big Boy Ballistics is in Papillion at 9257 Platteview Rd — a straight 10-minute drive west of Bellevue down Cornhusker Rd or Hwy 370. No interstate, no traffic, no parking garage. For most Bellevue residents we're closer than driving up to a West Omaha gun shop, and we're priced well below them.
A big chunk of our customer base lives or works in Bellevue, including a lot of active duty and civilian employees of Offutt Air Force Base. We know the rhythm — PCS moves, deployment cycles, suppressor wait times measured in months. The appointment system was built specifically because that community didn't want to lose an hour to a walk-in line for what should be a ten-minute transaction.
Inbound transfers from your last duty station, consolidating a collection from a relative, ordering a new sidearm before deployment, picking up a Form 4 stamp that's been at ATF for ten months — all of it goes through here regularly. Bring your CAC or military ID and we'll move through the paperwork without re-explaining basics.
Suppressor and SBR transfers are a meaningful part of what we do. Cans are popular at Offutt for obvious reasons, and we'll handle the Form 4, the eForms submission, fingerprinting prep, and the follow-up when ATF eventually approves it. We'll also store the can during the wait if you'd prefer — no problem.
Cornhusker Rd west to Platteview — 10 minutes door to door from most of Bellevue. No I-80, no construction zones, no parallel parking on a busy street. From the Offutt main gate via Capehart Rd, about 12.
Form 4 transfers handled in-house. We've got the paperwork, the fingerprint stations, and the patience to walk first-time NFA buyers through what to expect. Wait times on suppressors right now are running roughly 2–6 months for eForm 4 — we'll keep you informed.
$35 standard, $75 NFA, NICS included. No add-on background-check charges, no handling fees. If you're shipping multiple firearms (a common situation post-PCS), we'll work out a reasonable rate for the lot.
Customers come from across Bellevue: Mission Park, Bellevue West, Twin Creek, Olde Towne Bellevue, Fontenelle Hills, Stratford Manor, Galvin Heights, and the neighborhoods around the Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum. We see military families housed on and off base, civilian DOD employees commuting in from Plattsmouth, and plenty of long-time Bellevue residents who'd rather not drive up to Omaha.
If you're closer to Papillion or coming down from the Omaha metro, see the Papillion page or Omaha page for drive-time and process details.
When you order online, search the seller's FFL finder for Papillion 68046 and pick Big Boy Ballistics. Or send your seller our FFL directly — there's a downloadable copy on the homepage. Once your firearm ships, we receive it the same day it lands, log it into our bound book, and notify you by email or text.
From there you book a 15-minute appointment slot online. Drive the 10 minutes from Bellevue, present a Nebraska driver's license (or equivalent state ID with proof of Nebraska residency for handguns), complete the 4473, NICS clears, and you're walking out. Total in-store time is usually under ten minutes.
For NFA transfers the process is the same on the front end, but the firearm stays in our safe until ATF approves the Form 4 — typically several months. We'll text you the moment your stamp comes back so you can come pick it up.
All transactions subject to federal and Nebraska state law. ATF tax stamp ($200 for suppressors/SBRs) paid separately to the federal government, not to us.
