Big Boy Ballistics is in Papillion — 20 minutes south of Old Market on Hwy 75, or about 25 from West Omaha via I-80 to Hwy 50. We're not pretending we're around the corner. We're saying that for most online firearm purchases, the math works out heavily in your favor to drive south.
Most West Omaha and Millard FFLs charge $50 to $75 per transfer, and a couple charge $90+ for NFA. Our standard is $35, NFA is $75, and we don't tack on background check fees, "handling" fees, or any of the other line items that turn a $40 transfer into $65 at the counter.
On a single transfer that's roughly the cost of gas plus a coffee on the way back. On three transfers a year, you've covered the drive ten times over.
Hwy 75 south to Cornhusker Rd, west to Platteview. Straight shot, no stoplights once you're on Hwy 75.
I-80 east to Hwy 50 (Springfield exit), then south. Faster outside of rush hour. Skip the I-80 / 84th interchange if you can.
L Street west to Hwy 50, then south through La Vista. Easiest route if you're south of Center St already.
By appointment means when you show up at 2:30, we're handling your transfer at 2:30. Not finishing up another customer, not "be right with you in a few." A 4473 takes about ten minutes start to finish.
Most Omaha shops kick suppressor and SBR transfers to a partner FFL, which means an extra leg of paperwork. We do them in-house — Form 4 transfer, eForms submission, the whole sequence. Bring your fingerprint cards and we'll handle the rest.

Regular customers come from West Omaha, Millard, Elkhorn, Bennington, Aksarben, Dundee, Benson, South Omaha, Florence, and downtown. The drive is honest — 20 to 30 minutes depending on where you start — but the savings on transfer fees and the appointment-only model bring people back.

When you check out on PSA, GunBroker, Brownells, Bud's, Cheaper Than Dirt, or any major online retailer, search their FFL finder for Papillion 68046 and select Big Boy Ballistics. If your seller doesn't have an FFL finder, just send them our FFL — we have a downloadable copy on the homepage.
Once your firearm ships, we'll receive it, log it into our bound book, and notify you the same day by email or text. From there you book a 15-minute appointment slot, drive down, complete a 4473, NICS clears, and you're heading back to Omaha with your gun.
Total time at our shop: about ten minutes. Total round trip from West Omaha: under an hour, including the transfer. Compare that to driving to a local Omaha shop, finding parking, waiting in line, and paying $20–40 more.
